I was the first one to comment, and he never got to mine either :(
oh well

Never even looked at mine, the jerk.
I mean, I guess I could have met him half way and actually posted some first...but still!

S'okay. He didn't get to my question either.
Stupid work deadlines pushed out my question to much later than I wanted to.

I posted 6 minutes after the AMA was posted and my question was moved half way down the page. What kind of shit is that? Is there a hierarchy as to who gets their comments towards the top, regardless of when they post?

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
It's a conspiracy I tells you!

It's because Kinja is broke.
It keeps breaking comments, so you can thank Kinja.

Yup.
The, shall we say, tenured old bastards like Gamecat and me and Party and well, aforementioned old bastards generally have more favour in the system and get shoved near the top, and then the system plays the whole "how many comments and/or how many recommends" and then ranks comments from there.

Its a kinja conspiracy
wake up America!

Same here man, I posted 6 minutes after as well (the only comment when I posted was jerry's test comment) and I was shoved near the bottom.

SAME! The only one there was his test comment.
Whats the deal with the kinja commenting system!?

thats some pretty shitty bullshit if you ask me
I would figure gawker would want a "free and fair" ordering of who gets where in the comments...

I don't know, I feel like its only fair to rank em by time when you have the LIVE features...
I was thinking he'd for sure see it, considering we were pretty much first lol.

agreed, but instead we are one notch above the unapproved
bleck

It seriously infuriated me. I wasn't able to comment on anything...

Its a throwback of the star system. Those who historically get recommended like madmen get pushed up there, and of course the cycle perpetuates itself.
Gawker can't get a site to run without issues or a commenting system that flat out works no matter what; one step at a time man. One step at a time.
